Mine is mounted on the inside of the rt rear frame rail, near the spring eye area. With the driveshaft loop, it's protected from being hit if I break a U-joint, it's away from the R/R tire, and it's high enough to never drag the ground. Another consideration is using a floor jack. I like the electric pump to be lower than the fuel tank whenever possible. My car's mini-tubbed, relocated leaf springs ("in the rails") and has never been a street car.
