I know nothing here...just thinking out loud...
why couldn't it run "backwards"? my house is set up to run the AC in either direction, run it one way, and the hot compressed freon goes outside the house, and the cold expanded freon comes inside the house. this makes the house cold.
flip it around in the winter time...hot compressed freon comes inside the house, cold expanded freon goes outside the house, and heats the house up.
the car system wouldn't work the same way?
In theory it would be possible, but I think the location of the restricton in the car system would make it not work.
A system designed to work lik,e you home one, likely has a different valve system so it work.
