AMC did some goofy stuff back in the day.
We had a 1975 4X4 wrangler with the 304 or
something close to it. The trans had GM Turbo
400 guts in it. We gutted the trans and put
everything in the Chevy trans case. The transfer
case bolted right up to the Chevy Turbo 400 case.
Then we made mounts and tossed in a 350 Chevy.
All fresh with parts from Northern Auto out of
Sioux City, IA. It all depends on what trans
is in the thing. AMC used alot of parts from
different manufacters.
