First time he has had his 66 Dart out this year.

First the combo..

66 dart, full bucket seat GT interior, 3310 race weight(weighed it tonight)

904, 5200 flash PTC

9.5-10 to 1 ish 360, eddies.

Stock bottom except Ross pistons

Too big for combo 258-264 comp flat tappet

750hp. Patrick at Pro systems just freshened up and straightened up, was bogging and stumbling last year the last time he got the car out.

chrome box, 1 5/8 headers, weiand excellerator, 27 by 9 QTP tires, Ce 3 ways on rear, leafs. 4.30 gear shift 6500 trap 6600ish

Car ran an 11. 77 off the trailer at 112 and change. He backed that up with an 11.69 next pass, at 112.80 or so.Car is so inconsistant on the launch its all over the place. And i havent a clue if he is shifting it consistantly either.

Watching the car launch, it wads up the tires real bad, even doing a burnout i noticed it.
His launch style was to roll it in at about 3000 off the foot.
The car really tensed up at that rpm. I told him to try 15 pounds in the tires, vice the 13 he had been using forever. It still wadded up the tires but ran an 11.61 with a 1.62 60 foot..a hair better than the previous 1.64.

I told him"what shocks you have on the front, he said i think they are like the CE 3 ways i have on the rear you bought be for Christmas, i asked if he had ever adjusted them, and he said no. I pushed down on the Front end and it was like it was welded
I took off the top bolts on the two shocks and had him crawl under the car to take them off. He pulls the first one out and i look at it and i have no idea what they are, but they arent adjustable, and pull apart so hard its unreal, he says, duhh thats right, i forgot I never put shocks on the front

They belong in a garbage can, which is where they are headed.

So, i told him to hike the tires up to 17 pounds, and instead of tensing up the suspension, to leave just a little above idle(1500 rpm) so it might slap the convertor harder and try and plant the tire better...

1.56 60 foot, 11.51 at 114.40

He backed it up with a spinning 1.62 60 foot and goes 11.54 at 114.77 the car was on an easty 11.45 ish pass the last lap of the night, which i believe might be a personal best, and this was crappy air last night, with shot tires on it.

Now we are getting somewhere. I told him to get a set of those calvert shocks coming today, and buy some new hoofs for it(current tires are probably 4 years old and i think the sidewalls have about had it.Think i might have him put tubes in them to help some.
Next thing i want to play with is jetting, i know it has 84's in the back and thats too much jet.Timing is at 36, want to play with that as well.

At almost 115(and i think it will go 117 after we fool with it) the car should make him happy.
Very muggy evening, probably 3000-3200 foot of air.
I told him if we get those shocks on it, new hoofs, and tune on it some, in good air i see teens or 20's in the car...where i had hoped it would run all along.just wish it had even another point or point and a half of compression, it would run 10's i am sure if it did, and the combo would be "more" optimal.

It was nice to get up there with him and play with his car a little, he almost never gets it out, as he works probably 70 hours a week, but i think he is going to be happy once all is said and done.

Moral of the story, test and tune nights really help. He didnt take a wrench, an air tank, nothing with him at all. i said it isnt ever going to change unless you do something to it....

I love my little bro
