I bet you remember how much you paid for your first Mopar though.
Total different magnitude of events.
And remembering what I paid for my first Mopar is a completely different magnitude than remembering what the wrinkles on the front seat cover looked like the day I drove it home.
When I got my second Coronet last year I noticed that my mind automatically puts in the imperfections in the dash that where in my orginal one, and I hadn't driven the original one in almost 10 years.
So yes I can see how trivial things could be ingrained in someones mind, especially when related to a big event that is very important to anyone who was there.
Don't forget, there is such a thing as a photographic memory and there are different magnitudes of that also.
