Was thinking about trying to build my own headers for my Car..Fitting and welding is not my problem..if i understand the concept correctly, all the tube need to be the same length(within reason) Right ?? So routing them to make sure they are all within 1-2" of the same length is that correct ????

Try to use large radius's, the fitment is more important
than getting them all the same length.... sure you
try to make them the same but if they dont fit in
the car you have nothing... watch your weld joints
for good clean/square joints so you dont have to use
alot of filler rod(that can get inside during the
weld). If your making step headers the end of the
inside tubes is the true length(not the weld joint)
so leave the 2nd tube a little long for overlap,
have fun.... its just a puzzle
Also try use use the same number of bends per tube
if possible to have the same or near back pressure
I also like 3/8" flanges for any N/A engine, thicker
for turbo's
