We have our valve covers off at least twice per race. A big lash on one valve means something's not right. We've caught early some pretty serious issues this way. Two races ago we had a tip come off of a titanium valve and the rocker had begun to eat into the stem. We got it before it became a BIG deal. Oil change? We take our motor apart several times per season so the oil get's changed then.
