The offset depends on the body platform. Early A body is different than later A body. Later A body is 1.25 offset so pinion needs be offset 1.25 also. Race car guys usually put a Ford 9 inch in the center of the car since it looks better and the offset is almost right for a Mopar. I can't remember on a Dana 60 if the housing ends up in the center or not. It is close.
