it was common around here "back in the day" to paint the wheel wells, the gas tank, and all of the suspension parts you could see with white rustoleum.
i did my charger that way, and it still retains that today for the most part. [except for the places that have fallen off in big chunks. ]
as i replaced the gas tank with a stainless one, i won't put any paint on it.
at my age, i'm just going to continue to beat the car until i croak, and the next caretaker can "restore" it.
