All the drag cars I've built and driven are in high gear before the 1/8 mile lights. My message is all the drivers work is done except driving the finish line work
The plus side of 1/8 mile racing is most racing damage is done on the starting line or in the last 300 ft before the finish line in the 1/4 mile work up
Another thing is you get more laps in the day at the 1/8 mile tracks also up boogie
