Nothing sad about that. I get that and a couple specialty magazines.

No need to subscribe if there's no content. At one point I had about a dozen monthly magazines but many started rehashing old articles, many lost content and just weren't worth it anymore. Funny that most were from the big publishers.

There could also be the demographics of the readers. Perhaps many are no longer interested in how things work and just want the parts list.

Cooking shows have similar problems. I used to love Alton Brown explaining why adding some ingredient developed a better finished dish.
