One thing that was not discussed is seating the sleeves. My shop (Opel Engineering) will take a brand new aluminum block, torque an o-ringed iron head on each side and put it in the hot tank for a couple hours. You'd be suprised how many sleeves drop from this process. If not done the sleeves will drop after some heat cycles and may cause head gasket problems. There have been a few posts on the sleeve dropping subject.
