I always thought that was odd too, to have a convertible WITH A/C but my longtime friend that lives in Florida pointed out that it's dumb NOT to have A/C in an area that has high humidity and daily popup rain showers. Driving a convertible with the top up in high heat and high humidity is no different than driving a hardtop anything with the windows up. He also said that convertibles with no A/C where usually purchased or ordered by first-time convertible buyers, they soon found out the mistake they made on a hot day with scattered rain showers.
