On the dyno the motor was miss firing. We leaned it out some and the miss fire went away. We only had to lean it out between five and ten percent to get a good clean pull on the dyno. So knowing that it didn't take an extremely rich mixture to start miss firing, my question is,, what is the weakest link? The ignition is a new MSD7531 programmable 7 and when Iusing a test box, really sounds good. So what may be the weakest link in my package? After proper jetting, it made 982 hp, so power is good. I am just concerned about being so close to miss fire.

I’ve had to go down to .018 several times to get them to hit. I think some guys get way too excited about big plug gaps. I ran my Super Mag III (which was almost 5 amps) at .018 to make it hit above 8,000. If I wanted to shift at 6500 I could open the gap to .030ish and that’s WIDE for a mag.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston
