And a note regarding the old adage that "you're never too old to learn something new", I've used gas cans for decades as I raced motorcycles (dirt bikes, road raced, worked for two motorcycle manufactures for over 40 of those years, etc.,) for decades (since the '60's) and have had the spouts leak and pour out gas when the screw on spout's gasket doesn't seal to the can (usually from age). A few years ago while at work and pouring gas into a bike with a similar VP can and the cap started to leak and leak badly. I put the can down and tightened the cap/spout as tight as possible and started again and it still leaked badly. A young guy standing there watching said "close the gas can vent" and so I did and the leak stopped. What happened was the gas can cap leak then became the vent and you could hear and see the cap leak now being the vent. Rule of thumb if the cap leaks then close the vent and make the leak the vent. Never too old to learn.
