Yes and No. They did, electrically. The float arm on one still needs to be bent. When the gauge reads empty I still have 1/8 of a tank of gas in it. I fixed an original A body sending unit for a friend that I videoed showing how bad the ground was before the wire and steady after the wire.

That's not all that bad. Kind of like a safety issue: i.e. margin for error.
Like the lights they have on modern cars, when 2 or glns left til empty.
And who cares if a full tank reads a smigg'in above/below the F mark.
It's not you're going to calculate your mpg per these gauges.
