Sounds like fast ratio box to me. I had a '66 Barracuda that came with a standard ratio manual box, which was close to 5 turns lock to lock. I bought a fast ratio 16:1 manual box and it looked exactly the same on the outside, but it had a little over 3 turns lock to lock.


up up up 5 turns std. box, 3 turns quick ratio. not sure if a Std box could be converted with a gear swap shruggy


Firm feel sells a kit to convert from the factory 24:1 ratio to a 20:1 or a 16:1. It was very easy to do.
