Trying to find out the first year that Mopar produced a 440 engine in a b body and to my understanding it was 1967 which also had the closed chambered heads(casting #915 ?). Looking at a 1967 coronet with a B440 stamp on the upper portion of the block. This would indicate 1966 to me. Maybe it's correct if the car is an early build ?? What says the Mopar community ??

B was the crossover year. I had a B426 block (wedge block) but B440 engines are a lot more common. C was a much bigger year for the 440. You'll easily find 10x more C440 than B440. I've never seen a B440 and I've been buying big block engines for 30 years.
