The finish line lights at the end of the track are mounted higher than ones on the starting lines at NHRA sanction track, Finish lines lights are supposed to be 6.0 inches high to the centers from up the ground, the starting lines lights are 3.0 inches to the center is what I've been told by several local strip techs and by NHRA headquarter tech people shruggy
NHRA did increase the legal limit on the length of them from 36.0 inches to 42.0 measured off of the furthest forward spindle several years back based on that some of the newer cars having longer noses shruggy
This a fine example of the need to raise the finish line heights up to 12.0 inches or higher twocents
