Right. But how many items that are made specifically to be "Special Edition Collectors Items" wind up turning out not to be?
Like, how many times do people have to fall for that same old advertising ploy? How many people bought the "Special Edition, Triple 8-track Boxed set" right after Elvis died? Guaranteed to increase in value!
What are they worth today? Next to nothing.

It's all marketing bunk used to drum up a few extra sales. They probably needed another 2200 units sold to finally pay off all the stamping equipment needed to create the car. Which basically means 2200 people just got took.
