When I was just a kid, I bought a 70 Road Runner with an Air Grabber. I noticed that both rear corners of the hood, at the hnge area were bent down. I couldn't figure why that was until i had the car over 100 mph and could see the motor under the center of the hood. Then I understood clearly.
That scoop needs to be attached to the under hood bracing in as many places as possible. Just adding panel bond between the bracing and the skin is going to result in a distorted hood sheet metal where ever the panel bond holds the outer skin to the bracing, as the scoop is trying to pull itself free from the outer sheet metal. The shape of the front of the scoop isn't helping, it is creating a huge air trap under the front edge of the scoop.
Yeah but the only place to attach the bracing is at the front and rear of he scoop.. The bracing is too far away on the sides unless I extend the structure to the middle of the hood.
The picture of the front part of the scoop is deceiving. It actually comes to a point. Like this....
