I had this problem on my Challenger and it was a worn reverse shift lever. The hole was a little wallowed out on the inside of the lever where it bolts to the transmission not the rod end.

It would not turn the lever far enough to engage the switch.

Appreciate the comment but as mentioned earlier, the lever is up against the case inside the trans. It can't go back any further. I've ordered a new switch hoping it reaches in a hair deeper.




I couldn't immediately find a NOS switch so I ordered a "Standard" brand. Hopefully its not made in China.
