My current race engine project is an Indy -13 headed 451-470ish cube deal with a t-ram and custom LS firing order solid roller that spec'd about 85-8700ish RPM for that combo.

With the Hemi 99 I was hoping to stay around 9k to extend valvetrain life. My understanding is that I need to run the valves after each pass which is fine. I like to check things of that nature often for my own sanity. That said my labor is free and springs are $5-600 a set and going up every quarter.

Al, do you have any insight with respect to power output at 8800 vs. 10,000 RPM? My Charger weighs around 3k lbs with an Indy headed iron B block w/ t-ram, Lenco 4-speed and ladder bar/Dana 60 combo. I think it will be a wash weight-wise. I read somewhere that the Hemi 99 weighs about 500lbs? I assumed that was s/out the dry sump tank and other peripherals.

I'd love to see a dyno sheet. Hopefully all of that paperwork will be headed my way shortly.
