I have a 2016 Ram 1500 5.7 with the A88HP70 transmission. It as just over 100K miles on it. I am towing a 24 foot trailer that weighs in at around 7200-7300 lbs. According to the chart I found, the max trailer weight rating for my configuration is 7780 lbs.
The truck tows this trailer fine, but I am concerned about long term impact to the transmission. I have a load balancing hitch, and I am looking at upgrading the trans cooler and possibly putting air bags on the truck. Of course the fuel mileage goes from 18 MPG to about 9 MPG, but I am ok with that as long as I am not putting the truck at significant risk. I always tow in Tow mode.

I only tow about 4-6 times per year and typically it is about a 200 mile round trip.

What is a good temp range for the transmission? I watch the temp while towing and see it ranges from 192-196. Is this too high?

What else should I do to the truck and or trailer to help preserve the health of the truck?
