My guess is it would be photo collage of the car, all VIN's and some etching somewhere on the car added by the current owner. Once that goes on the chain it cannot be duplicated and I pity the guy that tries

Keep in mind it only assures that car/VIN can't be duplicated, as for authenticity it likely be handled by a company. If it happens for watches you can bet the farm its coming for cars.
