UMMMM NO! I have been running 8's or faster with BBM's for the last 15+ years. Hell I have a 3660lb 64 that runs 8's with parts that have been on the market for over 30 years. It aint rocket science and as I have told my kids there entire life you simply have to have the "want to" bad enough to make it happen. Some folks juts don't have that desire


They are as rare as hens teeth near me....Or I am just socially isolated. ..My Duster is one of the quicker Mopars at the track, and I am only a 9.4 car...


And this is how these beliefs are perpetuated:
"I have the fastest Mopar at my local bracket track, therefore I have my car 100% optimized" I'm sure this is very far from being the case.
It takes roughly 850 horsepower to run 8.90s in a 3000lb car, a properly built 500 cubic inch engine with 440-1 heads is fully capable of producing those numbers. No new parts necessary, like Al stated, the parts to do it have been available for a very long time
