My gas water heater is 32 years old and zero issues. I cook with gas also, approx 28 year old stove....$14 a month and $9 is the service charge. Heat with gas with 30 year old furnace, total bill in the coldest of winter $55.

Id fix it.

I get calls all the time about upgrades to my gas appliances from my gas company but yet every month they send out usage reports vs 100 close neighbors... im always in the top 5%.

A fluke, luck...who knows.
