I have glued a bunch of old computer heat sinks onto trans pans and oil pans in the past and had some success bringing down the oil temps a little bit this way but I have to wonder is there a better glue for carrying away the heat than silycone? I usually just use "right stuff" or black RTV smushed as thin as possible but I know it is still probably causing at least some insulating effect. Any suggestions?

I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!
