I did what you suggested. Apparently. things have changed since the car cooled down overnight.

I did step one and the first time I let the clutch pedal up there was no noise. Each subsequent time I pushed it down and let it up the grinding sound was there.

Was the above done with the car in neutral or a gear position ?

I proceeded to step two and it makes the grinding sound when I try all the gears including reverse and now the transmission will not go into any gear.

The above would indicate that the clutch is not disengaging or the synchonizers are not stopping the gears. This can be caused by the temperatures, wrong fluid or worn syncho's

It would still go into all the gears last night while it was hot.

Was the grinding still present when hot?

your posting's are a bit confusing and It's difficult to establish if the grinding you refer to is Transmission or clutch related

If the noise is happening in Neutral WITHOUT MOVING the shifter then it is likely clutch related.

If the noise is happening WHEN MOVING the shifter and the clutch depressed it could be either or

Silly question, has the fluid level been checked recently?
As previously mentioned it sounds like it time to pull the trans. and clutch frown
