i use a chunk of the flexy stuff that was used to connect the air cleaner body to the exhaust manifold tin in the mid to late 70's.
napa calls it "preheater" hose. the part number for the one i use is 819-1126. it's 2" in diameter, and stretches out to 18" or so. i think there is a longer one, but i don't know the part number for it.
it flexes to the shape you need, and will hold that shape. take it to the parts store after you shape it, and compare it to hoses until you find one that will work for you.
when you are done, collapse it back into a straight shape and put it back into the box until the next time.
works for me. your mileage will vary.
