A lot of the modern throttle bodies pull from the front, but most pull from the passenger side rather then from the driver side. The throttle cable has a bracket to bolts to the throttle body mounting bolts that the cable locks into, then the cable swoops around the front of the motor and turns back to the pedal. Mopar solved a lot of throttle cable problems when they did that. You should be able to adapt the modern throttle cable to the older gas pedal. If you can't, the 90s Dakota's had a bolt in gas pedal assembly that connected to the modern throttle cables.
