Take a look at Fuelab's pumps. I'm running one of their low pressure 2 speed pumps on my 493" six pack motor. When the secondaries open a micro switch steps up the pump to high speed, otherwise it runs quietly on the lower speed. They have some nice products and good tech support.

Also, it's one of the few electric pump manufacturers that allow the pump to be mounted above the fuel level. Mine is located right near the top of the tank and sucks fuel through 2 Holley Hydromats via a pair of 10AN lines.
