All the 1962 to 1971 A,B and E body stick shift cars I've seen or owned have that U shaped bracket welded on top of the drivers side sub frames, not bolted on the inner side of the of the sub frames
I guess that I should have clarified that it was an add on that was welded on top of the frame rail.
I wasn't meaning or inferring that it was a bolt on piece.
The holes that they put in the side of the frame rail are punched in for any combination of possible brackets that they might need.
