I need to scratchbuild a trans crossmember for my truck and need to pick up some material. Steel square tubing (1.5" or 2" ) would fit the bill just fine but i could use round (size?) if you think its stronger. I was thinking .125 (1/8") wall would be adaquete. it needs to span 36" between the rails. Does this sound ok? or should i get something else?
