The only manufacturer that I know of that sells an AWD from the factory is IH, the others are all conversions most likely done by
Marmon-Herrington. This maybe what you saw but I could be wrong.
Marmon Herrington.....there's a skeleton from the past! The power company I work for bought some Ford F450 service buckets with Marmon Herrington 4WD conversions. The transfer cases looked like something out of a Toyota Tacoma, and would last about 6 months. January of 1998, we were headed to Watertown, NY to help get the power back on after a monster ice storm....and the transfer case came out of that POS Ford in Scranton, PA. I limped it into a Ford dealership in downtown Scranton. You should have seen the look on the poor old mechanics faces when they looked under the truck! Took em 2 weeks to fix it, and I thought they did good at that!
