Yes, you are correct on the first sentence, the second one you should have said 68. To the OP, your trans will have a stamp on the passenger side and on the drivers side pan rail will be the exact part number of the trans to make sure it is at least the proper application.


To add to Rhino's response, the transmission and engine are stamped with the car's VIN at the exact same moment using the same tool by the same line worker ... WHACK! WHACK! So if the 9 in the VIN is crooked or deeper on the engine, so it will be on the trans.
