The "high idle" solenoid is used on the 3x2's to minimize or prevent "dieseling" when the engine is shut off. The 3x2's have a higher idle RPM and without the high idle solenoid the throttle does not close all the way and you can have engine run on or "dieseling" as Chrysler calls it. If you don't have the issue without the solenoid then that's a good thing but if it happens, well the answer is obvious what's needed wink

Also the original high idle solenoid is and was sourced through GM from their Delco Remy parts and it was also used on a '60's Pontiac GTO so maybe find a Pontiac GTO website/forum or Facebook and see if there is a reproduction made or a source for OE? If you find one on a GTO forum please let us know, thanks.........................................(I tried a few years ago, found which model and year it was used on but have to dig to find the info, back later if I find it)
