My parents live in Gallatin which is on the north side of Nashville. It's a good place because it has everything, near Nashville, and also right about the edge of being in a city if you'd like to have land also.
Very expensive there, I looked and can't afford to live there...
Roughly the same as where I live in Michigan for a similar house and lot. But their property taxes are half of what mine are. I have a more cheaply built house and slightly more land and it's appreciated an easy 75k in the last 5 years.
