my mind is old, but that reminds me of a C-body release.
in the past, i have installed inside releases in a few B-bodies using the C-body release cable. it's somewhat of an easy mod, and easily reversible if you watch how you attach the handle bracket inside, and how you attach the cable end to the latch.
i know this is slightly off topic, but just my experience in life playing with mopars.
