Trust me you wont be allowed driving entry to the US to pick up a car or anything else ..no matter what story you use. This what you will run into while attempting to cross at ANY US border entry port before you even get to the kiosks. Ask me how I know. Even when you drive up to this US border crossing point which is 10 miles from me, you'll be told in no uncertain terms to "turn around and head home, what you are asking is considered NON ESSENTIAL...period, no exceptions."
