If it worries you and it should about taking jet out.
Make small changes and pay attention to how is reacts.
Based on the plug picture, there's probably room for another degree or 2 of timing.

As far as reading plugs.
If I put fresh ones in after I warmed the engine.....I could take them back for a refund.
They are that clean...
