Choices have varied over the years. Before EIS and Bilstien off the shelf options were available, the choices beyond Monroe, Gabriel etc were KYB and Koni.
So a lot of us tried them because Koni's were a very serious commitment.
As Tony and others have said and explained, KYBs transmits quick wheel motion from things like uneven surfaces like cobblestone and RR tracks.
If there are no shock related issues now, then stick with what you have.

If you want less roll, then what is needed is a front sway bar.
If the car is not damping (keeps moving up and down several times after the input occurs), then find and replace the bad shock.
