I thought that I'd post some broken connecting rod carnage pics.

This is the 5.7 Hemi from the 2004 Durango that I picked up with a bad engine.

The story was the guy went out to start it on a day that we had 10+ inches of rain, fight on start up it started knocking.
Apparently it's a common problem on that era Durango with a Hemi once they get over 100k miles on them the water runs down off the cowl onto the engine and the intake o-rings can let water seep past.

The amazing part was that other than sometime having an initial knocking noise on start up, it ram smooth and quiet after that. realcrazy

I finally started swapping over the Durango specific parts (oil pan, etc) onto the replacement engine so I took some carnage pics.

It's crazy that the number 6 cylinder piston it turned 90 degrees from where it should be in the bore.
