I remember when shifting the 440-6 hard from 1-2 shift, the Dana 60 just did a BOOM, instead of a nice chirp like mine would do. I just liked the automatic better in 440-6 & Hemi cars. I had a 71 Hemi Charger for 4 years & loved the automatic & 8-3/4 combo - never broke anything or had to ever do any drivetrain work. I can imagine the 4-speed trans & clutch work you'd have to do every few years if you drove it fairly hard. I had to have 2 clutches & two trans rebuilds in my old 340 Cuda back in the 70's, plus I could tear-up motor mounts quick if I drove it hard, which I did fairly often.

Now on a 340, I'd take a 4-speed every time.

That's why they invented solid motor mounts. whistling
