Sanding down the pitting on a '68 Plymouth driveshaft, I found what appears to be 2 stripes.
They run around the shaft, 22" & 25" from the rear end of the tube, and are about 3/4" wide, brushed on, appear to have been white.
I've seen this on Fords, but in 40+ years don't recall it on a Mopar.
And these are not as "nice" as the Ford ones.
The car itself is low-mileage, though it's having its 52nd birthday next month.
I can't think of a reason for them unless everyone has missed that, which is unlikely, given the talent.
The rest of the car is #s & codes, shaft looks legit, but I'm mystified.
