The story for decades is that Edelbrock couldn't keep up with A12 production even in '69...and more of those motors were planned for the '70 models. Only '70 6-BBL car I knew back in the day (a buddy's GTX) was iron, but I don't know its SPD. Maybe someone in the A12 Registry has a good idea of the date of the switch.
