Most of the new tubes I buy and use need to be ground down some on the oil pan tip end to get them to start, most but not all need this. If it will start a tiny bit you can use a 1/4 inch bolt stuck into the top of the tube to drive it in all the way, you may need to straighten the top part of the tube so it will drive the tube straight in instead of bending first scope

I always modify as needed for a "slip fit" and use a bit of RTV, knowing that someone, somewhere down the road will thank me . beer
