If you are running 8 degrees BTDC and it's not pinging on 87 octane , then you don't need any high octane fuel. I would just leave it alone and stay with the 87.
You can use any octane fuel you want; but, you won't get any performance gains by just switching to higher octane fuel. The high octane fuel will keep the engine from pinging when you have your timing
advanced.
