I agree with J Body, steps, nerf bars, running boards, whatever you want to call them make it extremely difficult to pick the vehicle up for service. Plus they ruin the flow of the lines. My 74 is lifted 4" with 32" tires. I just climb in. Getting the dogs in is a different story though. They are getting old and jumping isn't as easy for them anymore. Our new truck has the auto fold out running boards and I like them just fine but I could have lived without them just as easily.
