I'm going IRS, so a driveshaft rear mounted Alternator is relatively easy.
Not sure about occasional road splash water
I like my weight low, and rearward.
An engine mounted alternator only needs min output when at rest/idle, when moving and the driveshaft alt is in play, demand is higher and some recharge is likely needed depending on idle time.
Car would see minimum street use vs track car.
Charging systems would be parallel.


Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.
